Despite being famous worldwide, the Jack Russell Terrier is not recognised by the English Kennel Club. This breed was developed by Reverend John Russell in the 1800s in the south of England and used work foxes above and below ground.
These dogs are both resilient, courageous and very tenacious, making then true working terriers. Early socialisation is very important with these dogs. Extreme care should be taken if introducing these dogs to households with existing small animals and even cats.
